We are seeking resumes for a Tech Systems Paper (1 Opening) in our Wallula, WA Mill facility.

Description of role:

The Control System Technician works with mill operations, engineering, and maintenance groups to deliver engineering solutions for process and automation projects. As part of those solutions, they design and procure control panels and equipment, develop instrument specifications and engineering documentation, and configure software deliverables for the end-user.

Principle Accountabilities:

Works with mill operations and corporate engineering on process optimization; including analysis of problems, audits, control strategy and process enhancements, and efforts to reduce process variability and costs.

Performs advanced troubleshooting of complex process control and system integration issues.

Participates in assigned engineering projects that involve the installation or modification of process control systems.

Ensures that any system upgrades performed in the existing process control systems are completed as designed, and that quality meets or exceeds PCA standards.

Provides training for operators and instrumentation and electrical personnel on any new control systems or modifications.

Basic Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of continuous experience in the electrical, instrumentation or process control field is required.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certificate from technical or vocational school focused on control theory and application, or 5+ years of experience in a project-based systems integration role.

B.S. degree in Engineering (Electrical).

The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Hands on experience with configuration of Honeywell TPS and Experion DCS systems and logic, or equivalent DCS systems (Bailey/ABB, DeltaV).

Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work independently at times with limited supervision, while maintaining site standards and following best practices.

Strong organizational skills, ability to work with multiple teams, demonstrated leadership skills, and the proven ability to lead effective teams, while under tight deadlines.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Ability to develop engineering documentation as part of project packages.

The following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities are preferred:

Experience with CAD software (AutoCad).

Working knowledge of basic networking protocols.

Understanding of piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets, and vendor manuals.

Pay and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is from $92800 to $139200.

Employees (and their dependents) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance coverage, subject to applicable waiting periods. Employees are automatically enrolled in PCA’s 401k retirement plan at the time of hire. Employees are also eligible for up to 120 hours of vacation (prorated) and eleven (11) paid holidays per calendar year.

Salary92,800.00 - 139,200.00 Annual
