Quality Engineer (Food & Beverage)
Performs quality functions directly with Department Managers, Shift Supervisors, Quality Technicians and Auditors, and the Customer Service Department. Assist on development of robust Quality Audit systems and procedures. Responsible for seeking out improvement opportunities and leading teams with a relentless focus on improving quality and reducing waste. Follow general safety and compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace and continuously seeking improvement opportunities through system, process, and product audits. Drive Performance Excellence activities as project and/or process lead and identifying and developing teams using leadership competencies and training. Improve the quality of the process, using data collected from the operations, apply problem-solving techniques, and develop quality standards. Serve as liaison between internal and external Customers and Suppliers and write procedures that include selecting and applying correct measuring tools, identifying sampling requirements and statistical measures. Lead projects for improving product quality, productivity and cost utilizing tools such as Six Sigma, statistical process control, value analysis, FMEA, quality at the source and lean principles. Lead problem solving, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns using statistical tools. Evaluates materials and processes with a goal of improving, optimizing, and management and development of Quality Control documentation and standard work instructions. Training of Quality Technicians. The Quality Engineer role is a developmental position intended to develop an individual to be a future leader in the plant. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

- Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to write detailed audit reports and project summaries.

What you need to succeed:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- General understanding of manufacturing, quality, and its process.
- Data Analysis, Statistical Methods.
- Occasional travel required.
