STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company is currently seeking a Plant Manager in Mooresville, IN. The Plant Manager directs production and supervision operations for the Plant. This is a new facility with responsibilities spanning start up through continued, sustained operation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Lead all departments in the plant to maintain safety, quality, and efficient production.
- Coordinate production, distribution, and warehousing functions in accordance with established policies, principles, and procedures.
- Develop and implement plans, policies and procedures for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
- Review and analyze production costs and product quality and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plant.
- Direct preparation of production, human resources and labor/costs records.
- Recommend budgets to management.
- Systematically review financial performance of the plant to recommend to management opportunities for sales growth and cost savings.
- Coordinate plant safety, environmental and training activities in cooperation with the Human Resources Department.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Lead, influence and support as needed the opening of the facility in collaboration with multiple teams to establish production with approved quality system and staff to operate.
- Interacts or Manages team members Administrative, Production, Customer Service, Shipping and Receiving, Warehouse. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units.
- Manages subordinate supervisors and/or production manager who supervise all plant employees.
- Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Perform all additional duties assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED plus college and/or appropriate technical courses.
- Five years’ experience as a proven manager.
- Ten years corrugated manufacturing experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. This also supports the supervisor's role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.
- Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement.
- Budget development, adherence and analysis.
- Quality systems that support GFSI (BRC, SQF).
- Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ and EEO.
- Ability to work in ERP (Microsoft) and proficient with MS Office 365.
- Project Management – ability to develop and coordinate project plans.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Possess a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
