Job Summary:

The Field Service Process Specialist/Trainer is a key member of the Barry-Wehmiller Field Service team, specializing in customer training, process support, and optimization of corrugated finishing equipment. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge who enjoys working directly with customers, supporting long-term equipment performance, and helping teams operate more effectively. This position acts as a trainer, coach, and process expert—helping customers ramp up operations, improve equipment usage, and build confidence with our machines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an on-site subject matter expert and trainer for operators and maintenance teams on Marquip/Ward corrugated equipment.

  • Develop and deliver customized training programs during installations, ramp-ups, and post-install support phases.

  • Monitor and assess equipment performance, making process recommendations to improve uptime and operational efficiency.

  • Provide hands-on assistance in solving non-routine operational issues—including process bottlenecks, operator errors, or maintenance gaps.

  • Act as a liaison between the customer site and Barry-Wehmiller service, engineering, and support teams to ensure timely communication and resolution.

  • Assist in documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs), operator guides, and troubleshooting tips based on real-world customer needs.

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Extensive knowledge of corrugated equipment—especially Marquip or Ward machinery used in finishing and converting.

  • Background in field service, operations, or process improvement, ideally with training or supervisory experience.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics to operators and technicians in a clear, accessible way.

  • Experience developing or delivering training material and a genuine interest in teaching others.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills; able to influence without authority.

  • Familiarity with troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems, HMI interfaces, and light PLC diagnostics is a plus.

Additional Details

  • Travel: Up to 80%, primarily within North America (USA, Canada, Mexico). On-site support is often required during key customer milestones.

  • Physical Demands: This role may involve standing, kneeling, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs unassisted) in manufacturing environments.

  • Compensation: The approximate pay range for this position is $65,000–$100,000 annually. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
