GENERAL PURPOSE: The Sheeter Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the Sheeter and Guillotine Sheet Trimmer to cut paperboard to correct size, and with the grain going the correct way for an offset printing operation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Retrieves correct paperboard stock from warehouse using forklift.
  • Sets machine with paper guides for the correct size of paper to be sheeted; sets decurler as appropriate, verify caliper is correct.
  • Runs test sheets; examines test sheets to detect defects and verifies conformance to work orders adjusting machinery as necessary to correct production problems.
  • Observes operation of machine to detect and correct machine malfunctions such as blade or belt adjustments.
  • Will be responsible for other duties as assigned by Printing Manager or Shift Supervisor.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions.
  • Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties.
  • This position will help keep department in specs within all 5Sand SQF guidelines, and immediately report any food safety concerns to management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • 1-year work-related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education experience.
  • Good mathematical ability, including good understanding of measurements.
  • Ability to set-up machine.
  • Knowledge and use of micrometer and tape measure.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with little supervision
