Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products division is searching for a Performance Leader for the Camas Paper Mill located in Camas, Washington. The Performance Leader is responsible for the development of the hourly operational employees’ (16 per shift) capabilities and manages all aspects of their performance. This leader will have a general understanding of the mill and will be accountable for the paper machine results that are impacted by their team’s performance and capability. The Performance Leader will report to the Operations Manager.

A successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, constructive challenge skills to facilitate improvement, the ability to stay current in best practices and paper making knowledge.

The Camas Mill team of 140 employees are proud producers of our GP Pro roll and folded paper towel products. The mill is located along the Columbia River in the heart of historic Camas, Washington across from Portland, Oregon and in the shadow of Mt. Hood. What You Will Do

  • Role Modeling the behaviors and actions that advance our Principle Based Management® (PBM®) Culture and the organizational vision.
  • Coaching, leading, mentoring and developing employees to continuously improve their knowledge and skills to safely and efficiently operate a paper machine.
  • Enabling knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer between team members to help them succeed.
  • Interfacing with team leaders, operators, and salaried staff to identify and address performance and knowledge gaps.
  • Managing the safety performance of the paper machine crews.
  • Managing individual performance and holding individuals accountable for their results and communicating performance feedback.
  • Be part of a team that helps the whole mill run safely and efficiently.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Two (2) or more years of manufacturing or heavy industrial operations experience
  • One (1) or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, heavy industrial, or military environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Working knowledge of paper making equipment and processes.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring employees to improve their knowledge and skills, as well as performance.
  • Experience communicating (written and orally) and presenting to individual contributors and to senior management.
  • Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience using Kronos time keeping and pay roll system.
  • Experience in a Union environment.


For this role, we anticipate paying $110,000 - $120,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
