Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd. has 6 US entities: York Container Pennsylvania, York Container Elgin, Skybox Packaging, Stand Fast Group, Blackhawk Corrugated, and Champion Container Corp; with locations in Illinois, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
This role is 100% onsite at Skybox Packaging in Mansfield, Ohio.
Key Focus Areas:
- Assists with the design, sampling, and spec creation for the customer, sales, and customer service needs.
- Create CAD specs, print cards, Art for Approval, and tooling strike offs to ensure manufacturability, completeness, and function.
- Assist sales and customer service with:
Customer inquiries/ project requests
Creative solutions to solve complex problems.
CAD spec creation and sampling
Art layouts and review
- Coordination with Production to ensure all designs are capable of being produced as well as all applicable information is accurate and clear.
Responsibilities:
- Create innovative solutions for our customers’ complex and ever-changing packaging needs.
- Produce clean and well-organized CAD specs with a focus on manufacturability and ease of use.
- Produce drawings and samples for customer/ sales requests.
- Assist with the ordering of cutting dies, print plates and other items.
- Oversee and assist in cost saving measures, including but not limited to:
Corrugated design
Alternative substrate Design (Foam, Coroplast, SBS, Chipboard)
Machine automation
Tooling
- Responsible for keeping a clean and organized work and storage area.
- Ability to travel to customer locations and hold meaningful and productive conversations.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry/ retailer design requirements and recommendations.
- Ability to create specs and samples in a timely fashion while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Contribute perspective and experience to discussions, present support or dissent with clarity and champion important projects as needed.
- Assist other departments as needed. Including but not limited to: Customer Service, Estimating, Sales and the Pack Dept
- Any other tasks which may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time as the business evolves.
Qualifications:
- General understanding of the design and manufacturing of corrugated products.
- Knowledge of corrugated substrate, other substrates are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs is a must.
- Experience in an ISO or GFSI certified facility is a plus.
- Proficient in ArtiosCAD or comparable design software
- 2+ Years’ experience in similar role
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally in the US and Canada
- Knowledge of Adobe suite of products is a plus.
